Movement Mortgage hires Henry Santos as new Chief Information Officer

"Henry Santos is a first-round quality draft pick for our team," Movement Founder and Chief Executive Casey Crawford says. "First and foremost, Henry loves people and sees himself as a servant leader. He is exactly the right person to combine our greatest asset — our people — with our greatest opportunity —  the power of technology — to lead us into an era of exponential growth."

In his role as chief information officer, Santos will lead Movement's strategy to design, develop and integrate advanced computing services into a next generation cognitive, automated, digital lending experience. Santos will be based at the company's National Sales Support Center headquarters in Fort Mill, South Carolina.

"Movement has been on a winning journey since its launch, and I am honored to be part of this next chapter," Santos says. "The key to our success has been the ability to constantly evolve to meet new demands, react to competitive threats and manage growth intelligently. Our future success will be driven by how we respond to advances in technology and data science that are disrupting every industry in the economy, especially financial services."

Technology as a strategic investment

The hiring of Santos comes as Movement embarks on a strategic initiative that calls for a company-wide focus on developing people, leveraging technology across its business functions and combining those investments to foster continued business growth.

Santos will lead the technology investments with an emphasis on several key areas:

  • Business Intelligence and Predictive Analytics
  • Business Process Automation and Machine Learning
  • Digital Process Re-Invention
  • Infrastructure Resiliency and Cyber-Security

"I have no doubt we will continue to lead our industry in digital loan origination, engage our customers in intuitive, interactive and digital experiences, empower them to use any device, anywhere they choose, and do so in a safe, secure and trusted environment," Santos says.

Prior to his career in technology and financial services, Santos owned an international industrial engineering training and consulting firm. His early career included a stint coaching football at Davidson College and time as a high school coach and teacher in New York City.

A native of Edison, New Jersey, Henry holds a bachelor's degree in political science and government from Columbia University, where he played varsity football and baseball. He also earned a master's degree in human development and social policy from Harvard University's Graduate School of Education. Henry resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, with his wife Betsy. They have a daughter, Shelby, and two sons, Hank and Jack. Henry spends time volunteering with Movement Foundation, Samaritan's Feet, Room at the Inn homeless sheltering program and the YMCA.
