A New Kind of Internship
Summer internships are kind of like a trip to the dentist. You know it's necessary, and if you like your dentist, sometimes it's not so bad, but there's a million other things you'd rather be doing.
But what if your internship was fun? What if you actually learned valuable skills, bonded with your fellow interns, and took on responsibilities that would make you marketable as a college graduate? What if it even resulted in a job?
Movement Mortgage's summer internship program aims to do just that. Interns across several departments – finance, accounting, secondary, marketing, human resources, IT and quality control – will spend the better part of three months learning valuable skills that will launch them into their chosen profession, as well as experience working on special projects and collaborating alongside teammates.
"We want to offer that extra investment," says intern coordinator Beamer Wilson. "So we spend four hours a week just working on professional development and team building."
For rising college juniors and seniors, an internship can seem like a one-and-done experience. But we want to change that stereotype. Repeat applicants and interns are encouraged. Jobs are often offered to interns emerging from the program. "We invest time in them," says Wilson. "If it works out, we want them to come work for us."
We're currently accepting applicants for the 2017 internship program. Click here to apply.
