"My work with David and team was great, but i can't really go through this process without commenting on the fact that I was left at my closing without your money. Which has caused a ripple effect because we are buying a property away from where we live and it has messed up the timing of a lot of things. I don't want to belabor the point, you know what happened; however, it should be noted that if you run into a problem like this again, you put your folks like David and Elliott in a very awkward position without the proper communication, so they couldn't communicate to us. If I was told at 10am on Tuesday my loan wasn't going to fund until 12pm on Wednesday I could have made some calls and done things differently. Instead we were led to believe the wire was coming for almost 24 hours (obviously overnight we weren't waiting). Just be honest with your folks and your customers so we can adjust to the circumstances. I also want to note that i know the mortgage underwriting process is under a lot of scrutiny, but the level of questions I was asked, and the documentation that was necessary to do things like (1) write a letter because we wrote checks to our housekeeper twice a month for $100 or (2) write a letter to explain why i send $250/month to any one person and what it is for. At some point the financial wherewithal of the customer has to be taken into consideration. I also didn't appreciate that i had to make a call to another lender and get a competitive rate/fee to come back to you to get a rate/fee structure i deserved. I have excellent credit, more assets than you even used on the application or through the process, good credit ratios on the loan....i shouldn't have to beg to get the best rate you have to offer. I also cannot believe I am escrowing my taxes and insurance with the credit package i submitted. It is like i took a step back in time to 30 years ago. And to tell me it costs more money to not escrow. That is not right. I have 2 other houses that i somehow manage to pay my taxes and insurance on (that you can see from my credit report). So while a frustrating experience, David and Julie were great to deal with. So i gave them high grades, but at the end of the day Movement had one job to do, and that is to fund my loan at the closing and you didn't get it done. The title agent and both real estate brokers had never seen that in all their years in the industry. I'm a patient person and don't overreact, but at the end of the day I do wish I had taken that competitive offer from Bank of America, but i was pretty far down the road with you folks and David had been a pleasure to deal with. The rate is awful so i will be looking to refinance sometime in the future when rates drop, and will give you guys a shot, but if i get asked a couple of questions about who my housekeeper is or if why I pay monthly for my Bruins season tickets, I will not be a customer any longer. And when I didn't have my loan wire on the day after my closing and Dan Hines called me to tell me I was a priority and then i found out 31 of the loans had been funded and my wire was still not initiated, it didn't feel really good. Crap happens, tell people the truth, it goes a long way with people as opposed to spinning it into something to attempt to make me feel better. It works the opposite."
