The LeBron James Family Foundation and Samaritan's Feet serve students at Movement School

The LeBron James Family Foundation, in conjunction with Microsoft Xbox and Samaritan's Feet, distributed 400 pairs of socks and shoes to Movement School elementary students this past Friday morning as part of the NBA All-Star Weekend festivities.

Microsoft Xbox donated 400 pairs of brand new shoes and socks for the children. Volunteers with Samaritan's Feet, and student ambassadors from the LeBron James Family Foundation, gently washed the feet of each child before presenting them with brand new shoes.

The student ambassadors, known as 330 Ambassadors, are selected as role models by the LeBron James Family Foundation to students at the I Promise School and throughout the I PROMISE program in Akron, Ohio. The group of students traveled to Charlotte from Akron as part of LeBron James' commitment to performing acts of service in the host city of the All-Star event each year. The students helped select the shoes for Movement School students and spent time encouraging them as they washed their feet.

Additionally, former Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart, LeBron James' mother, Gloria James, along with Movement Mortgage CEO and Movement School founder Casey Crawford also took part in the act of service.

"It's all about the kids," said Gloria James. "I believe it only encourages them in hope. That's what this is all about."

"Our goal, is when every child sits down in a chair at a Samaritan's event, we want them to be impacted," said Samaritan's Feet founder Manny Ohonme. "The shoes we are giving them today will wear out. But the power of the love we have deposited, the hope we deposited in their lives today, they'll never forget that."

Founded in 2003 by Ohonme, Samaritan's Feet has distributed more than 6.8 million pairs of shoes in 108 countries and 385 U.S. cities.
