Movement employee delivers the message in the music
Jazmine Bledsoe traded a career in counseling to become a pre-closer at Movement Mortgage and lead a happier life. Little did she know, it would also help her musicality shine.
When Bledsoe became stagnant in her counseling career, she turned to her roommate, Movement University alum, now talent strategist, Beamer Wilson for guidance. Wilson's Movement praise appealed to Bledsoe and so she applied, interviewed and accepted a position. Now, the 27-year-old pre-closer has been with Movement for a year and a half and has never looked back.
"I have yet to have a day where I've dreaded coming to work," Bledsoe says. She describes Movement as a place to have fun but also to get work done. She says the amenities such as monthly $10 cafe credits and free workout classes mean the world to the employees. When asked to describe her experience at Movement in one word, she said it's "lit."

When she's not working at Movement, she's working on her music. It runs through her veins. Her father, Kevin Bledsoe, is a Jazz musician in the band The Captones, and from an early age, would teach her how to scat. Scatting is a type of jazz singing, often improvised, that imitates what instruments sound like. Her father's influence reflects in her music. The aspiring rapper combines different genres into rap songs. She doesn't look to fit the mold of how music sounds. She strives to create a new, unique voice. She says God is the motivation behind her music. She believes God has given her this tool to share.
At the beginning of 2017, Bledsoe began to pursue music and, in turn, felt inspired to write a song about Movement. "My passion is the message in the music. I'm an artist, and I'm always trying to write and perfect my gift," she says.
When asked why she created a rap song about Movement, she says she wants to capture the essence of Movement. The company culture is what she wants to share, and she hopes it will be Movement's anthem — a feel good, celebratory song. She felt inspired because she genuinely believes Movement is an awesome company.
Listen to the song here, titled “Movement of Change.” If you listen closely, you'll hear Jazmine's favorite lyrics "My company better than yours," and "Casey the real goat."
