Movement Mortgage, one of the nation's top 10 purchase mortgage lenders, has hired Raleigh mortgage veteran David Colgan as its Market Leader in the Raleigh metro area.

Colgan comes to Movement with two decades of mortgage production experience as one of the top producers in the country. Prior to Movement, Colgan served as a sales leader at Wells Fargo & Co., where he was the No. 6 ranked producer in purchase mortgage volume nationwide and led a team of 20 loan officers. Colgan began his career as a licensed loan officer at age 18, working his way through college.

"In business, everything falls on leadership. After getting to know David over the last six years, I am certain that David is the leader to take Raleigh to the next level," says Movement Mortgage Regional Director Chris Shelton.

Movement is the No. 3 lender in purchase share volume in the Raleigh market.

Colgan is a Sylva, North Carolina native who has spent most of his life in Raleigh. He has been married to his wife, Nikki, for more than 14 years, and they have a son, Jackson, and a daughter, Sophie. They also have two dogs, a German Shepherd named Luke Kuechly and a French Bulldog named Maximus Prime.
