Chris Caponiti Joins Movement Mortgage in Northern Virginia and Maryland
MANASSAS, VIRGINIA — Movement Mortgage, the nation's sixth-largest retail mortgage lender, is excited to announce the addition of senior loan officer Chris Caponiti to its team serving Northern Virginia and Maryland.
Caponiti (NMLS #476312) brings over 25 years of experience in the financial industry to Movement, having most recently worked at MetLife and KPMG. His career has taken him from coast to coast and overseas to work in international financial markets, specializing in trade and risk management. In 2008, he switched to home financing, leaving behind the fast-paced world of futures and options to work more directly with the consumer.
“I want to always be the best at what I do. With mortgage lending, I feel like I am at my best because I enjoy working with people,” said Caponiti. Home loans are about that — the relationship, the connection. I am there to build relationships and get my clients to the closing table. I can't imagine doing anything else.”
Caponiti's dedication to creating a memorable experience and smooth transaction process for his clients brought him to Movement. “What attracted me to Movement was the opportunity presented by the culture, expanded processes, and support teams,” he said. “We're in the business of closing loans. With every degree that we allow ourselves to move off the mark of perfection, fewer loans can close on time. As a loan officer, that's a responsibility I take pretty seriously.”
“We are beyond thrilled to have Chris join the team as a Senior Loan Officer,” said Stacey Barowich (NMLS # 195048), Movement's Market Leader in Northern Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Montgomery County, MD. “Chris's experience and vast knowledge have provided his clients and referral partners with exceptional services, which is a perfect fit for Movement's mission. We are excited about the future and know that Movement's platforms and purpose will positively impact the communities that Chris serves.”
Caponiti resides in Maryland with his wife, three children, and their dog, Geddy. He obtained an MSM in Financial Management from the University of Maryland and a BS in Economics from Towson. He's served as an MCSL and RMSC swimming official and chairman of his community pool for eight years. In his spare time, he enjoys the finer arts of horticulture, spending many hours working on his hedge sculptures and extensive bonsai gardens.
