Movement expands Houston market with Bart Evans
Movement Mortgage, a national top 10 retail mortgage lender, is excited to announce the addition of Market Leader Bart Evans to the Houston, Texas market.
Evans brings two decades of experience to the Movement Mortgage team. Starting in Springfield, Missouri, Evans began working with banks in the early 2000s. His leadership and entrepreneurial mindset helped him build a new lending department from the ground up which became one of the top mortgage banks in the area in just two years. In that time Evans regularly finished in the top three in personal production. In 2012, Evans and his family moved to Houston where Evans got to work building a small retail mortgage operation.
Evans' team started with a volume of just around $4 million a month and quickly grew that to over $10 million a month. In July of 2020, eight years after Evans joined as a leader, the entire branch hit its first ever $100 million month. Through Evans' leadership, from 2013-2020 the branch consistently led the company in units and volume.
For Evans, it's always about his team. He couldn't tell you his own personal production, but will readily tell you about the production partners he works with to get loans to the finish line. “I've never had a production partner that did not reach their goal for annual top producers trips,” says Evans. This mentality is what Evans sees in Movement, and what helped him make the switch.
“I came to Movement because of the people. That's a simple answer but so true,” says Evans. “Just finding a place to work was not my goal at all. I wanted a place with a culture that enriched people, treated people genuinely and ownership that has a realness to them where you know they have passion for people. I am always looking to grow a group, and the foundation of talented people we have here already is more than I could have asked for in a new place.”
Evans will continue to serve the Houston market and report to Regional Director Matt Schoolfield.
"What a great man and leader we have found in Bart,” says Schoolfield. “Having the opportunity to work alongside him to grow and serve our team in Houston will be an honor and gift for me. In addition to his years of experience and history building the strongest of teams and relationships in our industry, Bart brings with him the heart of a true servant leader."
Evans (NMLS #686484) is originally from Springfield, Missouri and was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 1992, playing for the Royals for five years as a relief pitcher. Evans and his wife Heather have been married for 24 years and have two children, Andrew and Abbey.
