AUSTIN, TEXAS — Movement Mortgage, the nation's sixth-largest retail mortgage lender, is proud to announce that Michael Nasserfar has been named a 2021 Mortgage Industry Professional Of The Year finalist by the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Greater Austin.

Focused on the Texas home builder community, the annual Marketing & Advertising Excellence (MAX) Awards is the only local program that recognizes the best in residential construction, development, sales achievement  and marketing. The 2021 MAX Awards will be presented to builders, developers, remodelers  and others who made significant and creative contributions to residential marketing through specific achievements during 2020.

A longtime Austin resident, Nasserfar [NMLS # 209485] has been serving the Austin builder community for over 20 years.

“Last year was the most challenging,” he confided. “We faced obstacles created by the pandemic that affected lending changes, borrower's employment status  and investors and loan programs exiting the space. And we had to relearn how to work with all parties remotely, often around the clock, to ensure closings were still made on time.

“COVID pushed everyone to their limits, but we didn't 'just make it through.' With Movement's resources and the overwhelming trust and partnership from Empire Communities, we thrived," Nasserfar adds. "Together, we closed over 250 homes last year.”

Nasserfar joined Movement as a Market Leader in 2018 and has become one of the driving forces behind Movement's growing Builder Division, a dedicated team of loan officers and operational support staff focused on serving homebuilders with excellence.  Reflecting that commitment, Nasserfar has received the STAR Award (State of Texas Mortgage Professional of the Year) three times over the last decade.

“We are grateful to partner with Michael, one of the absolute best in new construction home lending. He and his team provide an exceptional experience for every single family they assist while also making a significant impact in our community, ” said Kelly Rogers, Movement's Regional Director for Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. “Also, a big thank you to Empire Communities for your trust! We are proud to be associated with one of the most respected homebuilders.”

Award winners will be announced and honored at the MAX Awards Gala at the New Austin Marriott Downtown on June 26.
