Jason Stenger named HousingWire Insider
FORT MILL, South Carolina — Movement Mortgage, a top 10 national retail mortgage lender, is proud to announce National Director of Operations Jason Stenger is a 2019 Housing Wire Insider honoree.
The HousingWire Insider award recognizes the operations all-stars, the insiders that are a company's "best-kept secret yet vital to its success."
Jason Stenger was recognized because he is an executive available to his people. Simply put, Stenger answers emails. He leads the most responsive and efficient operations division in the industry.
As Senior Vice President, National Director of Operations, Stenger lives and breathes the 6-7-1 process that is the culture of Movement Mortgage. He leads the team of mortgage operations professionals that power Movement's goal to underwrite files in under six hours, process files in seven days and be clear-to-close in one business day.
Under his leadership this spring, Movement set a new all-time record month in May 2019 with $1.54 billion in funded loans, putting more than 6,100 families into homes. Additionally, Movement's Operations team under Stenger processed 80% of those loans within our seven day goal. Most recently, Stenger's operations teams led Movement to back-to-back record-breaking months in June and July, eclipsing the $1.75 billion mark in July.
Over the last year Stenger has helped navigate the complexities of operations staffing in a constrained market and lower volume in late 2018, which suddenly pivoted to unexpected low interest rates and record demand for purchase and refinances in spring 2019. Recently, Stenger spearheaded the Movement Comunidad initiative; a Spanish-language program with a team of Spanish-speaking underwriters and processors to assist native speakers who have the dream of owning a home. Day-to-day he oversees all of Movement's operations spread across three campuses located in Charlotte, N.C., Norfolk, Virginia, and Tempe, Arizona.

Stenger makes you feel like you're the long lost friend he's catching up with over a beer. His dedication to the process, to making his teammates feel empowered and important, is special.
