Movement Mortgage Launches the Movement Assistance Program

Proprietary down payment assistance grants make homeownership more accessible for first-time homebuyers

FORT MILL, S.C. Movement Mortgage, one of the nation’s largest purchase mortgage lenders, has launched a down payment assistance program for first-time homebuyers with limited funds available for a down payment. Qualifying borrowers may receive grants up to 3 percent of a home’s sales price and 97 percent conventional financing.

The Movement Assistance Program (MAP) combines a non-repayable down payment grant provided by Movement Mortgage with a 30-year conventional loan. Qualified borrowers will be eligible for 97 percent financing with down payment assistance up to 3 percent in the form of a grant provided directly by Movement Mortgage. This grant is not required to be repaid and comes with no second loans, liens or promissory notes.

NORFOLK, VA Movement Mortgage on Thursday officially opened the doors of its new 750-job operations center at Military Circle in Norfolk, Virginia.

Movement Mortgage hosted Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe and Norfolk Mayor Kenny Alexander to celebrate the successful partnership with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Other city officials and staff joined Movement Mortgage employees for the event.

Movement Mortgage forecasts $15 billion loan volume; 25% increase in 2017

The residential mortgage lender releases its first Impact Report with record volume, revenue and nonprofit investments in charter schools, community outreach and a farm in Uganda

FORT MILL, S.C. Movement Mortgage, LLC, will originate $15 billion in residential mortgages in 2017, a 25 percent increase on last year’s record-setting results, despite forecasts that the overall mortgage origination market will contract more than 25 percent.

In addition, Movement is investing millions of dollars in new technology, facilities and its nonprofit Movement Foundation, according to the company’s inaugural Impact Report.

The Movement Impact Report, released today, is the company’s first annual report to stakeholders on its business operations, growth and community investments. The company set new highs in total volume, profit, national market share and employees in 2016.
