For the 4th Time, Movement Mortgage Appears on the Inc. 5000 list, with Three-Year Sales Growth of 343%

NEW YORK, August 17, 2016Inc. magazine today ranked Movement Mortgage No. 1,127 on its 35th annual Inc. 5000, the most prestigious ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment — its independent businesses. Companies such as Microsoft, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, Pandora, Timberland, LinkedIn, Yelp, Zillow, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees of the Inc. 5000.

“No one makes the Inc. 5000 without building something great — usually from scratch. That’s one of the hardest things to do in business, as every company founder knows. But without it, free enterprise fails,” says Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief Eric Schurenberg.

Movement Mortgage is recognized on the list with a three-year growth rate of 343 percent and 2015 revenue of $363 million. Movement also is listed as a top 10 performer in South Carolina and in the Charlotte metro area. This marks the fourth time Movement has been on the list. The company was first listed at No. 128 in 2012, and earned the distinction as the fastest-growing mortgage company in the U.S.

The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue is $200 billion, and the companies on the list collectively generated 640,000 jobs over the past three years, or about 8% of all jobs created in the entire economy during that period. Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/inc5000.

Methodology

The 2016 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2012 to 2015. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2012. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2015. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2012 is $100,000; the minimum for 2015 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.'s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at http://www.inc.com/inc5000.

Movement Mortgage to Create 200 New Jobs; Relocate Operations Center to Military Circle in Norfolk, Virginia

Project is a partnership with state and local officials to bring new investment to Military Circle

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 18, 2016

NORFOLK, Va. — Movement Mortgage, LLC on Friday announced it would create 200 new jobs and relocate its largest operations center to a new home at Military Circle in Norfolk, Va.

The project is in partnership with the Commonwealth of Virginia and the City of Norfolk, which are assisting with redevelopment of the site, job training and related investments. Altogether, the project will be responsible for relocating 550 jobs from Movement’s existing operations center in Virginia Beach and adding 200 more jobs for a total of 750 mortgage-industry jobs in Norfolk.

“First and foremost, all thanks and glory to God for blessing us with this opportunity to continue growing here in Virginia,” Movement Mortgage Co-founder and Chief Executive Casey Crawford said. “We are excited to make a long-term investment by adding jobs and partnering with the Commonwealth of Virginia and the City of Norfolk. Our company began here, and we are continuing to expand with the talented and dedicated people we are able to recruit and hire in this region.”

“I truly believe this investment is going to spark a massive wave of positive momentum for this community by establishing a dynamic, thriving hub of business activity at Military Circle,” added Movement Co-founder and Executive Vice President Toby Harris. “We’re looking ahead with great anticipation to serving borrowers, real estate agents, team members and communities from our new operations center in Norfolk.”

Movement’s new home will be located at a remodeled and redesigned office in a former JCPenney department store at Military Circle Mall in Norfolk. The project is made possible by a major investment by the City of Norfolk, which owns the property and will lease it to Movement Mortgage. The renovations will result in a state-of-the-art operations center to support Movement’s rapid national growth.

Speaking about today’s announcement, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe said, “Movement Mortgage is an outstanding Virginia company, and we are thrilled that the City of Norfolk offers a facility that can accommodate the company’s rapid growth. This company’s continued success is a testament to the region’s business climate that will help us attract new companies to locate and hire in Hampton Roads. I am thrilled to announce yet another important step forward in our efforts to diversify and build a new Virginia economy.”

“We are pleased and excited to welcome Movement Mortgage to Norfolk,” said Mayor Paul D. Fraim. “Movement Mortgage is one of the nation’s fastest growing mortgage companies, and will bring new energy to the Military Highway corridor, setting the tone for the future redevelopment of Military Circle.”

Movement is actively hiring for sales, underwriting, processing, closing, accounting, human resources, marketing, legal, compliance and other corporate and support jobs. To meet hiring demands, Movement has also launched Movement University, a recruiting and training program designed to help military veterans, college graduates and career-changers begin a career in the mortgage industry. Job-seekers can learn more and apply at movement.com/careers.

Construction on the new operations will begin soon and Movement hopes to occupy the new office in early 2017.
