INDIAN LAND, SOUTH CAROLINA — Movement Mortgage, a national top 10 retail mortgage lender, is excited to announce the addition of Terry Barrett as the company’s Regional Builder Manager, a newly created position. In this role, Barrett will concentrate on building relationships with new construction builders nationwide.
Barrett joins Movement with more than 34 years of experience serving homebuilders and homebuyers. Previously, he held leadership positions at Wells Fargo. He is a Yorktown, Virginia, native with an undergraduate degree from James Madison University and an MBA from University of Richmond.
“It’s not often leaders with Terry’s relationships come along, and we are honored to have him join the Movement Mortgage family,” says Chris Shelton, Divisional Leader for Movement’s Eastern Sales Division. “Terry’s level of experience and expertise in the new construction lending world will be instrumental in taking us to a 10% market share in every market we serve.”
Movement’s Builder Division has rapidly expanded across the U.S. in recent years as home builders have benefitted from Movement’s builder-centric lending process. With the current housing situation putting pressure on builders nationwide, we understand how crucial well-handled loan processes and approvals are to a builder’s bottom line. By providing an outstanding buyer experience — utilizing underwriters and processors who understand the builder-specific timelines and requirements of new construction — Movement can help eliminate concerns that homebuyer loan approvals will get in the way of growth and achievements.
“I am beyond excited to join this dynamic company and to work with the team to achieve dramatic growth in the Builder Division,” added Barrett.
Barrett lives in Raleigh, NC, with his wife, Kristin, and daughters Piper, Sophie and Alexandra. When not helping people get into their new homes, Barrett likes to spend time playing golf and guitar.
