Movement Mortgage, a top 10 national retail mortgage lender, is proud to announce Vice President of Marketing Jake Fehling is a 2019 HousingWire Rising Star award honoree.
This is the sixth year for HousingWire’s Rising Star award. Fehling is part of a tremendous field of young entrepreneurs, younger than the age of 40, who are using their skills in leadership and innovation to pave new courses in every area of the housing economy including lenders, servicers, investors and real estate.
Fehling started with Movement in February of 2017 as the Vice President of Content and Social Strategy. From there he became the VP of Public Relations and Communications before taking over his role as VP of Marketing in early 2018.
Fehling helped launch the Movement Marketing Suite in 2018, and it was a game-changer for Movement’s loan officers. Under Fehling’s leadership, loan officers were given a robust platform of digital products for lead generation, education, video marketing, reputation management and automated social posting. Movement also started an in-house custom design shop in 2018 offering creative, one-off solutions to help loan officers build their personal brands.
Fehling also supports Movement’s marketing operating system, M3, which provides downloadable print and digital content at the loan officer’s fingertips. The latest addition, Movement Mobile, has allowed the marketing platform to be integrated into a loan officer’s pipeline, allowing an ease and speed of workflow that gives loan officers more time to get out of the office and build relationships.
While it may be Fehling’s name on the award, he is quick to push the kudos to the Movement Marketing team. “This recognition is a true reflection of all the work our team has put in over the last year,” says Fehling. “We wake up every day thinking about how we can help our loan officers find their voice, build their brand and, most importantly, do more business.”
Along with his Marketing team, Fehling produces the Mortgage Impact Podcast to bring together top thought leaders, deliver expert insight on the current market and educate consumers and businesses alike on how to get a leg up in a competitive industry.
Most recently, Fehling was honored to be named to the Content Advisory Board for HousingWire’s engage.marketing conference June 13-14 in Charlotte. He will moderate the top producer panel at the conference.
Fehling’s advice for marketing is simple: just start.
“Take more risks and act sooner. I tell our loan officers all the time to ‘just press record.’ Don’t wait to start the podcast. Don’t hesitate to launch the vlog. Each day you wait, you’re losing a day of influential, entertaining or engaging content that could be in front of borrowers and agents. I spent much of my early career over-analyzing things, trying to get them perfect, and I missed out on a few opportunities professionally. It’s not that I’m now completely unafraid of failing, but based on what I’ve learned over the course of my career, I’m now far more OK with it than when I was younger.”
